If the Fates Shone Down Upon You
with kindness and a $5,000 cheque, and you were AOK good for guitars. What would you invest in. Accessories, books, fun stuff. I'm looking for suggestions.

On-on-one lessons for a year with a good teacher would be my first choice. My second choice would be maybe a two week guitar camp ...
but that's just me :-) -Jim

A decent guitar building course (would like to build a macassar ebony/European spruce fan-fret grand concert).
And from the rule in your post (and set down by my wife) it's the only way I'm gonna get another guitar (devious grin)

I'd probably suddenly feel like I wasn't 'AOK for guitars' anymore. hehe.
But seriously, I'd probably bank it... And I'd keep my eyes open for buy and sell opportunities to make it grow into a little more.

I'd learn a new instrument.....
I see Straight-Strung Productions has a new instructional DVD out featuring wedding music... The Orpharion for Opposites with Carrie Prejean... actually, since we couldn't get our 2008 IRA's maxed out until just a couple of weeks ago I'd get crankin' on that for '09 instead...

But since this is a fantasy thread and we get to just spend it, I think I might talk to Tim McKnight and see about applying that to one of his guitars built from Osage Orange.... Wade Hampton "Well, I Can DREAM, Can't I?" Miller |

A really nice watch. Seriously i think there's something called WAS that gives GAS a run for its money. Must be something about appreciating fine craftsmanship.

A portion to our church's missions and then apply the rest to the principal of the mortgage on our house. Sorry to be so practical--it's a character flaw!
Since you're looking for suggestions, do I take it that you had this great thing to happen? Bill |
