Some people may not be real familiar with this song, but I'm a fan of some of the AIC tunes. Solid rendition..... Well done! The high part at the end is missing, but I wouldn't have attempted to sing it either. A lot of what Alice in Chains does features backup (2 singers), so IMO it's a brave attempt doing their stuff solo.

Seemed like a solid cover...I'm not familiar with the song at all.

Only suggestion I'd make (if you're going to continue playing in front of people) is to try to engage the audience a bit more. I know that it can be daunting to be in front of a group of people, but it gets easier the more you do it.

I'm specifically thinking of the way you got up, plugged in and just started right into it without acknowledging the audience at all. Even a, "Hi, I'm Rob," before you start would be a help. If you can play without looking at the fingerboard, you should definitely try to look at the audience (or at least appear to be doing so). That takes practice, but it really does make the audience feel like they're actually part of the performance and not just observing some guy who doesn't know they're there. I probably would have lingered just a few more seconds after the song was over. You sort of rushed off when you were finished.

I'll say this...it takes cajones to get up in front of people for the first time...especially if you're doing it solo. In the end, it's an infinitely rewarding experience, though

Especially for a HS kid in front of his fellow students. Balls of solid stone actually.

Agreed. At my HS talent show, one dude sang George Michael's "Careless Whisper."

Balls indeed... in both cases.

Here's to hoping that Yank's version went over better.

No doubt about it. Kudos to Rob for having those big 'uns hanging
