Default Wuestion about Taylor Cases

I was wondering why Taylor does not put locks on the deluxe hardcases. Am I correct in thinking Taylor makes only 1 deluxe case for any guitar over the 5 series? It is not the brown alligator type case with the red velvet inside? Why not also put in a lock into the deluxe cases?

i think the case right after or two cases after the beloved "pink poodle" had a lock at the front... but if i remembered correctly, the latches were problematic and people complained about them

The current tolex case is for all 5-Series and above Taylors

Me too... i really wish that my case had a key lock because everyone wants to just grab my guitar and play

Those were especially custom made for the GS when they debuted

Default The TSA?

Might it have something to do with the TSA and air travel safety officials wanting access to cases and luggage?

oh that stinks. Exclusive for the GS debut...they should have continued producing the cases with locks. I dont see why they wouldnt put locks for instruments that can be several thousands of dollars. granted if someone wanted to steal your guitar they can take the whole thing and a lock wont stop them, but it will stop those who want to play and you dont want them too...

i love my custom taylor but you would think it would come with a lock.

The question was asked in a Wood & Steel, I think, some years ago, and the answer was that Taylor stopped putting locks on the case because nobody used them. if someone was going to steal a guitar in a locked case, they'd just pick up the case and walk off with it.

thats tru but it will stop those in sight that want to touch your guitar that you dont want touching your guitar...actually it doesnt really bother me, I just like having the option to lock my guitar. Even if I would hardly use it, it would be nice to have in the few times I would need a lock.

Cool Custom GS Case

My new Custom GS arrived with the brown/gator case with combo lock. I like it better than any other case I've had.

Speaking of cases, I'm still looking for an old stock Martin Geib Style 5 latch with the GREEN interior to replace my Humi damaged Martin Merle Haggard Limited case. I've checked Elderly, Martin, Ghrun, nothing....anybody know of a dealer with 000 Green Lined case?

i've actually never used the lock... the red tab to stop it moving is still in there...

i've so little time to set up when at church i've no time to fumble for a code!!!

the case is way too heavy anyway, i'm gettin a replacement case to bring the guitar around...doesn't make sense to play with numb fingers... hehe

Talking Made mine the combo

PKANG, I've been told that the combo locks only came with the G Symphony and no other. Don't know if this is true but I love the case, outside and inside and like the combo lock.
