Default Met John Jorgensen today.............

After attending a Wondeful Desert Rose Band reunion tour show last night (the first of the tour)................I just happened to be at Buffalo Bros. today, and who walks in.....................John Jorgensen.

What a nice humble man. He was getting his Mando tweaked.
He sat down with a Gypsy Jazz Guitar and proceeded to RIP!!!!!!

We talked about the reunion shows, the possibility of a live CD........

They are playimg tonite at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

IF you are close......................GO!!!!!!

cool......the only time I've seen him live was many years ago with the Anger/Higbie Quintet as part of a Windham Hill tour with Liz Story and Michael Hedges. It's always neat when you run into someone unexpectedly like that....

John Jorgenson is amazingly talented, hard working, and he seems genuinely nice. He deserves all the success that he's had.

John Jorgenson is a multi talented gifted musician. I remember when he used to play at Disneyland and would also play clarinet! Hasn't changed personality- wise much, Still a very humble down to earth person. Although now he's a even better player...Scary!

If he was sitting there playing a gypsy guitar, I'm not sure I could have talked to him. I wouldn't have wanted to interrupt the personal mini-concert.

Nathan,

John did pick up SEVERAL Gypsy guitars, and RIPPED..............What a fortunate thing that I happened to be there.

I was one of 4 others who showed up at a workshop given by John on Gypsy Jazz guitar a couple years ago. Two hours sitting in a small circle around John as we each played one-on-one with him, first him soloing while we each comped the chords he showed us and then we each soloed (ha) around the scales he showed us, and he comped. Wow! So talented and so down to earth. Really nice guy. And what an awesome musician. He told us the background to his role in the Django movie he was in. Very cool.

Hi Russ...
Awesome player and arranger, gives his other musicians lots of breathing space.
