From the Old Town School of Folk Music....
Looks like this cool school is celebrating an anniversary with a tune book!
I know these songs are in many, many, other books but I think I will pick this up because I suspect the music will be presented with a particularly good mix of accuracy/accessibility..... http://elderly.com/books/items/49-311359.htm Has anyone seen this yet? (to confirm my suspicion) Anyone else glad/tickled/happy to see something like this available?

It brings back some memories of riding the North Shore Electric Railroad to the CTA toting my Gibson 5 String Banjo for Saturday morning group lessons.

Nice to see nods to Goodman ("City of New Orleans") and Dundee ("Delicate Balance'). But no "Dutchman?" (especially since Michael Smith is adjunct faculty). Boo! Hiss!
I don't own the original (I used to play the group hootenannies by ear anyway), so I'll head on over to Different Strummer (the OTS' music store) this week and pick up a copy.

I am most happy as I have become very much a traditional folk - turn of the century singer/player the past couple of year ....
I will be purchasing it update just found one on ebay !! it's mine... I have been attending workshops for the past three years based on traditional music for guitar and banjo, and have played at a Pioneer Village twice, and will be performing tomorrow. booked two dates at a local historical site just this past friday.... I'm as happy as a pig in S_ _ _ _
