Default An unexpected tip. The best I've ever received.

I was playing at Richard's Fine Coffees in Winter Haven, FL last night and received an unusual tip. I noticed a woman writing (I thought) in a notebook while I was playing. There are always students in the coffee houses scarfing up the Wi-Fi so I figured she was doing some school-related work. Before she left she deposited a piece of paper in my tip jar. I was playing a tune when she put it in there. I figured it might be a "cease and desist" order. I elected to finish the tune anyway.
Best tip I've ever gotten. Bar none!

Me and my Woolson LG.

That is way cool!

It brings back a memory of a sketch I received many years ago from a geometry student of mine that had me semi-morphed into Muhammed Ali with the caption "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, I am the master of Geometry".....

That is a lovely sketch - one to treasure!.
I have a similar tale - a small painting done whilst I was playing in an irish music session -

It was a very pleasant surprise to receive it.

Nice! But perfect would be if it came clipped to a $20 bill ...

Yeah, but if it were signed and the artist became famous, $20 would seem a pittance.

Even if that doesn't happen Orsino, you have a real treasure!

Frame that (put a note about the orin in with it)! What a wonderful conversation piece, and memory. Gotta respect talent like that, my doodles consist of nonsenseical scratch marks.

It's the old "barter" system; trading talent for talent. Nice

Priceless! Literally.

Any similarity between this remark and credit card commercials is strictly coincidental.

Best "tips" I ever found in the jar:

1. After playing "Safe Home," found an unsigned handwritten note saying "Our son's in Iraq--thank you for playing that;" it bore a single wet spot that may have either been a teardrop or condensation from the iced mocha glass.

2. After playing "Ink & Pen" I found a brand-new Pilot Varsity disposable fountain pen!

Nobody's sketched me, though more than a few have surreptitiously recorded me.
