Parlor Guitar String Question
I just bought my first parlor (Washburn 316 Historic Beat Up Weathered Series). I threw some Martin bronze lights on it. It sounds good but I think I might be too light on the gauge (12s). If you listen to the following, you can tell that I'm getting a bit of fret buzz.

Chris,
What is the scale length on the parlor? If it is something in the range of 24", you should be able to go with mediums. The Martin LXM (small travel sized guitar), and the Larravee Parlor can take mediums. With mediums, you might be just about right, have lower action, and no buzz.

On my Larrivee Parlor, I use Bluegrass gauge John Pearse Phosphor Bronze. They are medium bass and light trebles. It seems to balance out (though I'm planning on trying a set of mediums one of these days.) The Larrivee is a 24" scale. What is the Washburn? If it is anything less than 25.5, I'd suggest trying mediums or bluegrass. I looked it up and couldn't (on the Washburn site) find the scale length or suggested gauges. Part of my normal process when I get a guitar is to go through several sets to see what I like best on a given guitar.

Ill try mediums
Ill try mediums first (when the lights start driving me crazy) and then go the "mixed" mediums / lights route.
Thanks for the feedback
