Default My Lakewood

...just seems to get better and better. I was nervous at first because of the price, but after two months I have yet to experience any buyer's remorse.

Can anyone tell me why you don't hear more about Lakewood?

Here is mine: http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...M32C%20custom/
I was also hesitated in the beginning but after it opened up man the tone is incredible! They are more popular in EU since only a handful dealers in US and low exposure in mainstream media. They are up there w/ RT's!

I think that's definitely a big part of the lack of US awareness. Very crowded playing field too...

No problems here. Mine fits the body snug as a bug in a rug.

Lakewoods I've played (and owned) have been exceptional or profoundly mediocre. They have never been "bad" but the finish always feels a bit rubbery to me, in truth. I think they can be great, but they can also be much less than great. I feel mostly the same way about Larrivees, minus the finish comment.

I think partially just a lack of brand awareness here in the states, but I also personally have a hard time with their typical neck profile. They also have (mostly) standard 44mm or 1.73 nuts and the string spacing is almost always pinched in to play as narrow as a 1 11/16 nut would normally be. Very hard for me to play.....I'd like to try an M-32 someday with a 48mm nut (or even a 46mm with the string spacing out as far as it should be) and low profile neck.

I think 46 mm is the standard now, but i had similar issues with my 44 mm until i had a new nut cut with slightly more generous string spacing. - Worked like a charm, still leaving enough fretboard edge for my purposes. It now is my favorite gutar neck.

I'm learning a song played a half step lower than standard and i think i like how the guitar sounds. May keep it there for a while.
