Advice about shipping a guitar
Can someone please offer me some good advice about shipping guitars? I'm selling a Taylor guitar (in a deluxe case), and have never shipped before. Makes me really nervous. USPS, UPS, FedEx? How much should it cost? How much to insure? Any advice about how I pack it, inside and outside the case?
Thanks!

Go to a local guitar dealer and ask for a box. My guy in town gives me boxes with braces, and with peanuts. Some dealers are real jerks about it...even after I acquired a new ES-335 Custom Shop, a shop would not give me a box. Yea, they lost my business just because of a box. Most will accommodate you though.

Read this on how to prepare a guitar for shipment.
As to which shipper to use, in my book it doesn't matter. You'll hear horror stories about them all. It should cost you under $50, insured, to ship CONUS. insure it for full replacement value. _____ gh1 |
