the price on a 114ce is less than 1/2 that of a 314ce -

plugged in, i'll bet it'll work just as well &
acoustically i don't think it will be far behind...

wow

I had a 110 and thought it was an AMAZING guitar for the money. Ultimately, I sold it for the DN3 which I currently have.

After getting a GS-MC recently, the DN3 is up for sale simply because I can't justify keeping three steel-string acoustics around. But I could easily live with a DN3 or 110 or any version of the 100 series. I think they are great values and seeing a CE version of the 100 series makes sense to me.

I wonder if these are special editions just for Musicians Friend / Guitar Center?? Taylor did that with some of the striped ebony GS models for just Sam Ash stores.

Always a possibility... they've done special editions for Buffalo Bros. and Gruhn's...

Ya possible but it says on the website on order until 9-25. If it was a limited run for MF I would think that they would say quantities limited?? We`ll know soon enough if other dealers get them in.

Default 110CE - Awesome value

I bought a 110CE back in October ('07). A few weeks later, I took it to a local well-known luthier to have it set up. He looked down the neck, pressed the 6th string at the 1st and 12th fret, played a bit up and down the neck. He commented on how the satin finish allows the sound out, he could feel the vibrations on his chest. He handed the guitar back to me saying, "It's perfect."

For me, it plays like a Taylor, sounds like a Taylor acoustically and plugged in and was under $800.

The only thing I don't like about the 214ce is that the cutaway is different than the other GA venetian cuts. It seems like they ran into a problem and weren't able to get the laminate to be able to curve like the solid woods do and instead had to make it flatter. However, I have played one, and they are great sounding guitars. A cutaway-electric Taylor for that price is a great deal.

I just saw a 114ce and a 110ce at a local, independent shop, and they're listed on the Taylor website as well, so it seems they're not special editions. I find the modified Venetian cutaway curious, but more attractive than I would have expected.

I don't know why Taylor builds the 100/200 models with the 1-11/16" nut, but I'm actually glad they do. I find the smaller nut more comfortable these days.
