T5 Question - Strings, saddles, etc
Hi there...So I am wanting to try the acoustic strings on my T5...so here's my dilema...I have to use it in church tomorrow...and I have heard that the strings can pop on the stock saddle that comes with the T5 from taylor.....Would it be a bad idea to put the acoustics on today?...i really want the acoustic sound, but not if there is an exponential risk of breaking a string....There is no way I can get the proper saddle by tomorrow...which leads me to my next question...what is the 'acoustic' version of the T5 saddle, and where do you get it?

I put acoustic strings on my T-5 without changing the saddle. Had no problems what so ever.

But, if it were me, I would wait and change strings after you play at church tomorrow. Your sound and action will be different. Better to change tomorrow afternoon and have a week to get used to it. Just my 2 cents.

thanks.....i am going with that approach...stick with the electric strings for now, and switch it up tomorrow...i just spent 3 hours honing in my settings in my line 6 xtlive....
what's nice is there is so much room in that thing i can have a separate space for the electric strings T5, the acoustic stringed T5, and also my Gibby Les Paul.....very nice toy those POD's are.... |
