Tom, so glad you worked the diamonds into the fretboard. Such a great look!

Thank you, but no, the wood in middle is Snakewood with maple surrounds I believe.

Actually, I meant the fretboard itself - you probably say somewhere but I missed it. It doesn't look like ebony.

For those following this thread, you have seen a sample of a treatment to the top that Ben was going to do. Well after a couple of "what have we done" moments, here is a look at the actual top with the treatment done. There is still a little more to do which will change it a little, but this will be a surprise for all of us as I am trusting Ben to do what he wants with it knowing it will look great in the end.

It has a warm, rich look, Tom. It will be very cool to see the final results!

I am glad you said that as that was goal, warm, deep, rich...Ben says in person, the color is really really nice. This has not been an easy process and Ben has been amazing and worked really hard, with I'll say, a good dose of stress, to make it be what he envisioned it to be.

It has to be very hard for anyone with their own artistic vision to turn what is in their clients' heads into reality and have everyone agree that it looks the way they want it to. I'm sure Ben handled it all well, and it's going to look fantastic when done!

Very cool, Tom!! Redwood is "the bomb".....so it's great wood for starters. Such a deep color quality to that top wood!!

Thanks for checking in. I am really happy with the color, he is going to do a little toner work now around the edges which should really be the nice finishing touch.
