I was just going to say this. If you get an OM with cedar/hog and a cutaway with a short scale that might be right up your alley. The neck is a 45mm, so slightly bigger, but they do offer a 48mm nut if you really want just fingerstyle!

Eso612,
OK, I know your original query was for spruce over mahogany. And Taylor has disappeared from this thread since early on. But you might want to play a mahogany top Taylor in either the xx2 or xx4 series. Like a 322 or 522 Grand Concert or a 524 or 324 Grand Auditorium. The 3xx series is paired with blackwood B&S, while the 5xx series is all mahogany. The xx2 may be short scale, while the xx4 should be 25.5" scale. I mention this because I have an older all mahogany Grand Concert, at that time made with 25.5" scale. It doesn't sound like a typical Taylor, so it might be worth your while to find one and check it out. And I currently use elixir HD lights on it, which has slightly fatter treble strings (.013, .017, .025, .032, .042, .053) and avoids any thin sounds, at least to my ears. So play one if you see one. Might surprise you. Don

Not seen it mentioned, but have you considered the Collings C10? Lots of flavours available, though they are few and far between on our side of the pond. Average 2nd hand price on a Collings C10 or OM is about £2.0-£2.3k. I have a deep bodied sitka/hog and it's very versatile with a fast neck. It's got a 1 11/16" nut, but most I see seem to be 1 3/4".
