Love the size and body shape, hate the painted tops. I think Martin would sell more of the 00L size guitars if they left them natural wood with a clear finish. As this one is, there would appear to be a very limited amount of buyers interested.

Painting the top is a good way to use functional but cosmetically challenged wood. But the image or the color used is important, and art is so subjective. I vote "no" with my dollars. Someone somewhere will buy them....

I like the cowboy graphic on SF's guitar, and I liked the dreadnought battleship pen & ink drawing from a few years ago.

$2249 msrp. Lots of other guitars ahead of that one at that price for me. I do appreciate the artistic quality and message, but maybe in a lower-priced laminate series?

Definitely not for me. I like the 00L guitar style though.

Ummm...nope. Not my cup of tea. At all. And pretty pricey. More power to Martin, though! They can build whatever they want...but unlike some others I don’t make a habit of having my social opinions painted on my guitars.

Don’t give up on it too soon. I’m pretty sure if you play it long enough you’re guarantee to see your aura.

If I wanted a wall hanger artwork guitar I’d get the Alvarez Grateful Dead ones. I actually did this with their GD ukes in my music room because I’m cheap.

If the Moderators will forgive this as an attempt to point out a bit of "textual irony, rather than being a poiltical commentary, this is a cut and past from Martin's page on this guitar.

"And even the gig bag is sustainable: made from hemp—a Martin first. So play, preserve, and protect the planet with the most environmentally friendly guitar on earth.

I have a young grandson that likes bright colors. I'd buy him this sapele guitar in a gig bag if there are any dealers that will knock off $2,000.
