As far as acoustic intros go, I've always been a fan of Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive. I learned that song on my 12 string back in the late 80s.

Roger McGuinn had quite a run of intros ... Mr. Tambourine Man set the standard.

Oddly enough, I never have heard that before, thanks! My musical listening habits admittedly have some shocking gaps.

Not acoustic songs but a couple acoustic intros I like. Short and sweet.

For some reason, immediately after reading the title this one came to mind...

Intro is great, but stick around for the solo in the middle. I remember the day I heard this played over the radio in my car, live in the studio. It blew my mind, never heard an acoustic guitar played like that before, and I had been a fan of his electric work for quite a while.

Beyond being a great intro, this is probably the best bass solo I've ever heard. Worth noting is how both the drummer and bassist will randomly move into other time signatures and accent stings togeather, just an amazingly tight group. And if you've never listened to UZEB, totally worth sticking around for when the guitarist comes in.

Love this... "Your host, Jerome Anitone"... He just keeps going on and on, while in the background, you can hear the drummer counting off the song while Fagen and Becker just laugh their butts off!!!

The intro is much better than the amped-up version of "Bo"...

For me, the introduction to "Don't Take Me Alive" has always been one of the most effective, as well as classiest, intros ever!

I remember hearing this many years ago - it was the B-side for one of the singles from the Gaucho Album (maybe Hey Nineteen?)

Got a good laugh out of it then and now...
