Default Sustain pedal for guitar

I have a question for you guys who are more gear savvy than I,

A friend was asking me today if there is a pedal available that can be used with
a acoustic guitar in the same way or serve the same funcion as the sustain pedal on the piano?

I don't know of anything, anybody have ideas or suggestions?

Thanks for your help/ideas

The EHX Freeze is pretty close to the same function. There are a couple of modes, but basically, when you hit the pedal it will hold that instant of sound until you release the pedal just like a piano.

There is a pedal called ‘Gamechanger Sustain Pedal’ which is touted as being incredible.

The PLUS Pedal by Gamechanger Audio. Haven't tried it myself but I would love to get my hands on one.

Thanks guys for the replies,

An acquaintance who is a professional electric guitar player and follows all the new gear much more than I do, also responded with the plus pedal information.

I've had a chance to watch the video on their web site,
looks like a really interesting pedal/effect, don't know that I can justify the $$
but it would be nice to get a chance to try it out sometime.

forwarded the web site info. to my friend.

Thanks again for the help, I knew the folks on AGF would come through.

Maybe a good compressor and a reverb pedal would do the trick?

I had the Freeze until just recently. Works very well I just didn't use it enough to keep it. Just sold it but I can recommend it. It has two modes - you can sustain only as long as you keep the button pressed or it will hold the sustain indefinitely until you press it a second time. I used it this way. Strum a minor chord and hit the button and that dirge/drone-like chord would hold while you solo'd over it. Way cool.

EHX Freeze or the Superego both sustain, but the Superego has an auto mode too.
