Wow, that's really looking good Paul. It won't be long now until you're enjoying breaking this one in.

Yo, Doug

I find JKs really need very little breaking in. But I will slap a Tone-Rite on it while it gets used to its new life and home.

I believe John may have finalized the wider asymmetrical V-ish neck carve today.

Cheers

Paul

Smile Thanks NTS

I thought I answered you, NTS

But apparently my answer went who knows where ??? Hahaha

Yes Johns guitars certainly sound every bit as beautiful as they look!!!

And these JK Big Guns are LOUD too. Still, they sure delight with bare fingers played gently too!

Getting excited my own self….

Paul

Neck /headstock

I told John, if I can’t see this in the dark, I’m definitely going blind…

If I’m playing regular, I don’t need it quite as much, but for lap-slide, which I do on my regular guitars,

because I’m crazy,

you really need the dots…. Dot Dot Dot…. Hahaha

And those side markers are a big help for bottleneck. I need all the help I can get!

Paul and John, What a drop dead gorgeous guitar. And of course with all of the latest and greatest comfort additions and creative touches. Not to mention...good grief how about those tonewoods...WOW!! I can only guess that this will be super fun to play and have absolutely monstrous tone!! Congratulations on yet another in a long line of beautiful instruments

Thank you Mike. I do appreciate good press. I must admit that working with maple binding and bevels makes me nervous. No hiding your mistakes. But maple does look good with the bubinga.

Yeah buddy! That’s reeeaaaaalllll good-looking.
Congrats to all. Especially to Paul, who found a wife so gracious and generous!
(Paul seems immune to the why-do-you-need-YET-another-guitar critique.)
Kudos!

Smile Thanks gentlemen…

Thank you Nootis and Steve K!

I expect glamour shots from John eventually ….

Steve, You are correct! I am super fortunate that Cindy is so supportive of my guitar addiction. And fortunately that is my only addiction, so I can afford one more.

Here is my logic. Or perhaps it is better terminology to say rationalization .

Since I sometimes take two guitars to gigs, I need a spare in case one needs tech attention. (It occasionally happens to the best of them)

Now I have a spare spare, so to speak. Hahaha

Cindy has two electric pianos, an accordion and a Yamaha studio upright, so she wouldn’t be likely to gripe about another guitar. And she occasionally tells me NOT to sell one!

It is a plus she is floored by John’s work, and she gets to listen to it a LOT.

After my lifetime of under the radar pro music, I feel a dozen or so guitars is almost reasonable….

Hope you Texas gents are having FUN!

That sunburst SK 12 string is SPECTACULAR

Cheers

Paul

Looks fantastic. I love the contrast the Maple brings! You must be bursting from the seams as it is almost there!

Smile Thanks folks!

Thanks llm, Roscoe and Tom! And everyone for following along on this build!

Yes, I am pretty excited, AND, as usual I am having John hang on to this and give it a few weeks to get used to being a musical instrument….

It is almost like reincarnation for wood! Haha

I expect John will continue to fine tune it as it settles into its new life.

He reports it already sounds great and he expects it may give my Jumbo Braz/Cedar “a run for the money”

Woohoo

Cheers

Paul
