My 3 nice acoustics all straddle 4 lbs., with my OM-28A being like 10 grams under, and my PW 000-28 and SCGC OM being just 10-20 grams more. The latter 2 are braz.
The PW also a K&K mini installed which is 3.2 ounces, so that means its original weight would be 3 lbs 13 ounces, pretty light for a newer braz 000.

At one time, I had four Collings 12 fret dreads, two were had EIR, backs and sides and two hogs.
The lightest was the '99 Sitka/EIR, and the heaviest ... the '07 sitka/EIR - and that's why I weighed them - that later Ds2h, always feels heavy when I lift it although its a matter of a couple of ounces, and yeah, they are all just over 4lbs.

There was a thread on the forum back in 2013 where tpbii listed the weights of about 25 acoustic guitars, mostly vintage Martins but also some 90s models, a few Gibson’s, a 70s Yamaha and a Blueridge.
Unfortunately, when I searched for it it didn’t show up. I have a printout of the post but I’m only going to type it all in if people are really interested. Hopefully someone can locate the thread and save me the bother! At a quick scan through the data the lightest was a 1934 000-18 at 2lb 4oz, the heaviest a 1964 D-35 weighing 4lb 15oz. Surprisingly ( to me at least) was that out of 7 D-18s the heaviest was a 1999 D-18GE. Regards, Clive. |

It's not something I ever really thought about. I did weigh one of my teles years ago. Tele weight was a hot topic on another guitar based forum so for S&Gs I weighed mine.

Let's weigh picks next. You may need a more sensitive scale.

Don't know, don't care, frankly. In terms of their weight, none of my wooden acoustic guitars even remotely compare to my banjos or my resonator instruments.
Now, I've always loved the sound of Gibson Les Pauls, but the few times I've ever sat in with electric bands playing a borrowed Les Paul, playing three or four songs on one of those boat anchors has always made any fantasies of ever owning one instantly evaporate.... Ha! I owned a Les Paul Custom in the mid 80s - what a beast....looked good, played good, sounded good...but....nobody wanted to lift or carry it. It needed a stand like Junior Brown's double neck that he just walked up to to play...: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junior...Brown_2014.jpg My National steel body Tricone is an anchor too. AFA Les Pauls, they can swing widely, and good historic R9s can get down to around 8 lbs flat (average is probably around 9.5 lbs). That's about the same weight as an average strat, and is shockingly light when you pick one up.
