Default SOLD: RTaylor Style 2...Adi/Madagascar Rosewood..."Unobtaninium" lol

RTaylor Style 2...Adi/Madagascar Rosewood..."Unobtaninium"

And anyone who knows anything about the Style 2 knows that they were not mass produced and are extremely hard to find (unobtanium lol)...especially with Adirondack over Madagascar Rosewood. I've owned this guitar for quite a while and it has been played gently and is in fantastic condition. Tonally I'd call it "rich" as the guitar plays beautifully and easily up and down the neck.

I think everyone knows that the R Taylor brand isn't built these days, but is well known for having not only the finest woods personally selected by Bob Taylor and only the caring hands of master luthiers to tune each guitar tonally to the highest standards of custom built instruments.

Here's what R Taylor said about these:

"After experimenting with body shape and dimension, bracing size and placement, scale lengths, bridge size and peghead design, the R. Taylor Style 2 was born. The body measures 15 inches wide at the lower bout (Style 1 being 16-1/4 inches), and 4-3/16 inches deep at the lower bout (compared to 4-7/16 inches for Style 1).

While the Style 2 will certainly appeal to fingerstyle players, guitarists of every ilk will find inspiration in their hands. As a result of the carefully thinned back, sides and top, and the light scalloped bracing, it takes very little energy to make the entire guitar body come alive. The sound is signature R. Taylor, offering superb note definition over the entire fingerboard, exquisite sustain, and chords that bloom as a finely balanced palette of expression. Together these tonal traits translate the player’s intentions into what we all ultimately seek: musicality.

Departing slightly from the Style 1 options, Style 2 features just one bracing pattern/top geometry: light, forward-shifted X bracing, with a 65-foot radius top."

Woods:

Adirondack Spruce: Adirondack spruce has a “springy” quality. Acoustically, it produces a robust output and more dynamic range than Sitka, which allows it to be driven aggressively for greater volume without distortion. The midrange tones also tend to have a richer, sweeter quality.

Madagascar Rosewood:
Probably the most consistently beautiful of all the rosewoods and considered by many to be a replacement for Brazilian but to be honest the limited supply of Madagascar wood from a small island means it will most likely end up being just as difficult to get as Brazilian.
