Default sam guidry build spalted brazilian engelmann om

Hi everyone, I am starting a new build thread for my om shape. ive decided to go with a black and white theme as the brazilian gives that impression of light and dark. The guitar features a diamond design element that I have been incorporating in various ways into my latest guitars, but on this one, i wanted to incorporate the diamond in a few ways, not just in the back decoration as my previous guitars have. hope you all enjoy the pictures
The specs are:
Spalted brazililan back and sides
engelmann spruce top
ebony binding
13 fret body join
25.5" scale
1 3/4" nut spacing
2 1/4" bridge spacing

Beautiful! I'm enjoying the pictures for sure. Looks like you have a little stain on the rosette.

I really like this Sam. Making that middle diamond in jet black is beautiful!

The rosette is vacuum stained. I wanted a touch of color to zazz it up a bit

Those inlays and rosette are beautiful. They compliment the BRW back so well. I was about to ask what the rosette was made from. I like the zazz. Can you elaborate on what the wood is and the process to stain it using a vacuum?

Typical stain does not penetrate all the way through a piece of wood so I made a stain mix of transtint and alcohol, then submerge the pieces to be stained and Pull a vacuum on it in a vac chamber. When the piece stops bubbling the stain has penetrated all the way. I have only done this with thin pieces of about .125" thick

i was able to finish the inlay for the 12th fret and glue the fingerboard. Next up is setting the neck and prepping for finish. The 12th fret inlay continues the triple diamond theme with the "points" of the inlay being the same material as the rosette.
