My $850 Yamaha LS-TA has gorgeous curly maple binding, in seven-ply array, the pale maple alternating with something quite dark like maybe rosewood.

But I've no picture-posting privileges, so you'll just have to believe me.

Sure you do. You just can't upload directly from your computer. Use Imagur or Photobucket, or similar photo storing platform, and you can. You'll notice that several of the posters, with photos, above you are registered users like you.

Curly maple banded with rosewood, 7-ply, on $850 Yamaha LS-TA, made in China. Solid Brazilian RW sides and back, the back bookmatched.

My first build - and only, to this point - has Zebrawood bindings. The Zebrawood is left over from a custom dash build for a Mercedes about 30 years ago.

Beautiful Koa guitar! I’ve never seen a guitar built in this shape. Could you post more pictures of its front and back view? Thanks!

These pics are just unbelievable, thanks people! (Some photos are very large, need to check your settings!)

JT’s Ebony binding reminded me that my National M14 had ebony binding on all mahogany with ebony fretboard.

The opposite of timber grain........I was thinking of a locally made custom....there is a 4x4 truck package with matt black trim everywhere on a gloss black body, very Goth looking, called a Raptor or something. I was thinking a 00 deep body, not sure of the body wood but gloss black with streaky ebony fretboard, bridge, tuner buttons and of course...binding! Probably have to call it The Raptor! Or The Fingerprint?

If only they sounded like Martins.
