Wow! Very nice guitars! They have that great Gibson sound with more ring and sustain than usual. Good looking guitars and a couple of very nice recordings.

Gibson is doing some good things these days!

Was I hearing the chords from Toad The Wet Sprocket - Something's Always Wrong on that last part?

Hey Glenn you sure did! The demo included the following tunes:

Shinedown — If You Only Knew
Improv / G-Run
Lifehouse — You and Me
Toad the Wet Sprocket — Something’s Always Wrong

Thanks for listening!

The Dove is easier to play, isn't it? Maybe it's setup a bit better?

Sound wise, they are very similar to me, but I detected a little bit of buzz and noticed more transitions on the Hummingbird...

Both sound amazing!

I’m happy for you.

I have a strange cosmic thing with the Hummingbirds routed in deep romance and … I can’t explain it.

I’ve owned a few. Loved them. Especially a Hummingbird Vintage in 2016. And yet they flew away. It might be the only guitar that also gets to have a say in its owner. A mystical, syrupy, warm and sweet guitar.

Either this or that I’m a gas-scious idiot. It could be that too.

Congrats Brencat. I love your hummingbird.

Color me surprised, Brendan!

I like the recorded tone of the Hummingbird a bit more, and really like the looks of the Dove.

Congrats on having both

I think the HB sounded brighter - the Dove a bit more bassy.

Thanks. Actually the Hummingbird is easier to play. The necks are identical -- basically a medium thickness C shape, and both have good setups, but the HB is short scale which tips the balance.

Thanks Sal. You can buy another Hummingbird you know. No need to spend a lot of money either. This Faded model was very reasonably priced and it destroyed 2 Murphy Lab Birds I played while also having its way with half of my collection.

Thanks Paul. I like the HB a touch better too, but it also has more miles on it at this point. The Dove has great potential though. We'll see in a year...

The HB is not brighter in person. But the Dove is definitely bassier and a bit warmer.

Hummingbird 24 3/4 scale. Dove 25 1/2 scale length. Two different guitars. Hummingbird has my vote. I ve owned plenty of both in all sorts of different colors. Hummingbird is just a better guitar. For me.

They both sound fantastic, I think I like the Hummingbird just *slightly* more! Nice playing and recording
