Does anyone know the specific difference in weight? From what I am reading online -- including threads here -- it seems it's 6 pounds or so. That doesn't feel very substantial to me.

I have 2 Lowdens , one came in the Hiscox, one in the Ameritage.
I prefer the Hiscox hands down .
Other guitars I own that came in TKL or similar type cases not offering as much protection, all have Hiscox cases that I bought to replace the case I consider sub standard for the protection of the instrument.
I'm firmly in the, Ameritage was a downward grade of case when Lowden changed, camp.

Thanks. So are they exactly like an Ameritage one might buy separately(plus logo), or are they redesigned or cost don engineered in some way?

I think if I had my way, with a new Lowden I'd want a Hiscox Artist in Ivory. Did this ever exist in Lowden O size?

IIRC, Lowden’s branded Hiscox cases were/are black only.

AFAIK, they are regular Ameritage cases but with the interior sized for the Lowden body-sizes and shapes.
Here’s mine (which I never use for the reasons stated several times already)…

And the Lowden-branded Hiscox Pro-ll which I bought separately, and which I use all the time…

Do we assume you bought the Lowden branded Hiscox through the Lowden website? Any idea what size that is on the ‘normal’ Hiscox range? OM?

Yes BK, I bought the case direct from Lowden, and it’s for an ‘F’ size guitar.

First and foremost, Lowden’s sizes and body-shapes don’t align with Martinesque designations.

The ‘F’ size is bigger than an OM/000 - when I was desperate to not have to haul my Lowden around in its shoulder-busting Ameritage, and in attempting to avoid having to buy a Hiscox from Lowden, I once tried to put my ‘F’ in my Hiscox OM/000 case, and the guitar was too big for the case, hence my decision to buy the Lowden-branded Hiscox. I’ve seen it said that GLG Co. regard the ‘F’ as their equivalent of a Dreadnought, and my Martin Dreadnoughts will fit in the ‘F’ sized case, although the Lowden is a bit too tight for my comfort in both the Martin 545 Dreadnought case and the Hiscox Pro-ll GAD Dreadnought case!

The ‘S’ size Lowden falls between the OO and OM/000 Martin sizes, there is no straight Lowden equivalent of an OM/000.

I’m away from home and in London until Sunday PM, if you can wait a few days, I’ll take measurements and a couple of pics and post them on here.

Thanks for all the replies. I have an O25c coming in a few days and it will be in the Ameritage. If the guitar seems a keeper, I will probably get a Calton. If it's not then I guess it does not matter if I like the Ameritage or not.
