Default Balazs Prohaszka Custom Build

So this is my first time getting a custom build. I have several one of a kind guitars, but never one that I started from scratch.

This one is being done by a Hungarian luthier Balazs Prohaszka out of Northern Ireland. He does a lot of the nicer inlay work for Avalon guitars, and he worked for Lowden and Zematis as well. He’s been a pleasure to work with. Great communication. Great artistry.

I own one of his guitars now and finally started this commission towards the end of last year. It’s slated to be finished in June. This is a tough thing to wait for!

The specs are:

Jumbo size
Neck bevel
Arm bevel
European Spruce Top
Movingui back and sides
Maple neck
Ebony fingerboard
Burl rosette inlay
VS Tuners
LR Baggs Anthem pickup

The guitar is going to be sort of an Irish theme. The headstock will be a landscape of the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and the rosette is based on the basalt columns in Giants Causeway.

Here’s what we’ve got so far.

The Giant’s Causeway motif is brilliant and looks really nice! Great decision!

Thanks. He did such a good job on that. I am really happy with how it’s going.

This is the conceptual design for it. It won’t be so blue.

Body is mostly complete.

Tuners arrive from VS Tuners in Brazil.

Neck has begun.

It’s becoming a guitar.
