Default Stunning/Mint 2010 Pierre Bensusan Lowden - video added.

So when Pierre came through town a few months ago I discovered I was fully able to play his standard scale length guitar...something of an unexpected and pleasant shock.

I found a dead-mint 2010 build, and purchased it right away as an experiment.

The standard arm-bevel adds a great deal to the comfort of the guitar, and has allowed my experiment to be an ongoing thing. I have played it quite a bit since receiving it, and have found that while the scale length is great (again, surprise) I would be more comfortable (at 5'6") with more of an OM-sized guitar (no surprise).

Much as I hate to do so, I am going to let this guitar go.

It's the standard Bensusan model based on the F Lowden, in Honduras Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce...with arm-bevel, Gotoh 510 tuners, etc., etc.

The Rosewood photos speak for themselves...simply stunning. The Adirondack is even in grain and color, quite beautiful in it's own right. Together the package delivers a crisp Brazilian-like tone, crystal clear, resonant as all get-out, and simply a great guitar to play and to hear. I will say that the guitar was delivered to me in literally mint condition...it was likely unplayed for it's entire 7-year life...a real "closet-queen" of a guitar.

I believe I have started the break-in process well, and that further aggressive playing will only enhance how the guitar opens up over time...and it's big and crisp and bold already.

It's structurally perfect, great set-up, and plenty of saddle showing over the bridge.

I am asking $5690 for a cash/check/bank-wire deal, plus any actual shipping.

Please EMAIL only at LP@LarryPattis.com.

Okay, here is a quick and dirty demo. No EQ, no reverb, no compression, no nothing. Recorded direct to camcorder with a pair of DPA4011 mics:

Smile Oh my!

Larry, I am glad to hear you can manage this long scale axe after all your recent travails!

And I understand about the big body...

Best on this sale of a MONSTER AXE

Play on in good health and spirits

Not only is this a stunning example of acoustic excellence, I was not aware of what an outstanding player Larry is. If you haven't before, check out his video links. Meticulous player with perfect touch and tone. Best of luck with your sale.

Wow.

Great looking Honduran Rosewood on this one. Not always the case from the ones I've seen - to the point that Lowden is now using other rosewoods to make this model.

Pierre and Doug Young have nice demos on YouTube, but my favorite is this one from Jimmy Galloway:

Good luck with the sale.

Yes, I agree...this Honduras is stunning...and was used during the first year this model was produced. I don't think they have anything like this to build with today...hence the other tonewoods being offered on the Bensusan model...

This was originally my guitar. I bought it new and as Larry has stated, it essentially lived in its case. This was not due to anything being wrong with the guitar. As I explained to Larry when I sold it, I have played guitar for over forty years, but the piano has slowly become my primary (and almost exclusive) instrument. I also have many (read: way too many ) other guitars that I turn to when I do play. I'm sure you all know that I don't need to vouch for Larry, but he is correct that the guitar was essentially un-played when I sold it. I was told that the guitar was a NAMM instrument when it was sold to me, but I have no way of verifying that and I have no documentation to back that up. The guitar was always properly humidified and kept in a smoke free home. I'm sure any new owner will be happy with it.

So I've listened to this clip a few times.
Are you really sure that you want to sell this?

Nice playing Larry!!! As always.

This guitar sounds enormous! And it is only big. Haha

Really, are you SURE you want to sell? The bevels sure do make them feel smaller...

Oh good golly, this tempts me SO much! I probably played that instrument at the NAMM show, as I played the booth example the year it came out. I'd not played a Lowden that I loved until the Pierre model.

(Great sound, Larry, as usual! You KNOW how happy it makes me to know of your improved ability to play!)
