Default NGD -- Breedlove Limited Edition C20-SMYR

So I just picked this up. Traded one guitar, selling another to make room. I was not planning this ... but once I encountered the guitar, there was no looking back. Fantastic acoustic tone -- on par with a boutique builder like Santa Cruz, etc. I guess they tried a new bracing pattern here, and combined with the sitka and the myrtlewood back and sides, it is a winner.

Very usable native plugged in tone, directly into a PA. Comfortable size for someone like me of, how shall we say, more compact dimensions. Visually appealing.

The Oregon series seems pretty cool, but this one is a limited edition ... 14 of 24. As far as I can tell, unique appointments include:
  • Sunburst top
  • Gold hardware rather than silver
  • Dyed maple neck for a more traditional look
  • iMix electronics -- not standard on Oregon series

Who else has the Oregon series? And anyone else here have the limited edition? Odds are slim, but thought I would ask.

Ham, congrats! I wish our local shops stocked some of the US made Breedloves. Have you played many Breedloves before or is this very new to you?

Enjoy your new guitar! That's a good-looking sunburst...I don't normally care for them but this one looks good.

I love Myrtlewood...any chance of seeing back and side pictures?

Very Sweet Congrats!! It looks like a keeper.

I too recently picked up a Limited Edition Breedlove. Mine is a Focus SE Dreadnought with an Adi Top and EIR back and sides. It plays sounds and feels like a Goodall or Santa Cruz!! I was surprised how light weight and responsive it is. Light as a feather and explosive!!! Better than the D-28 Marquis' I've had. I was absolutely floored with how good it is.

IMO Breedlove is the best Bang for the buck in the acoustic guitar market period!!

That is a beauty, I'd love to have a chance to play one of those! I have a MUCH lesser Breedlove (Atlas C250) and it is a great guitar. I don't think I've ever played one I didn't like. Enjoy!

Hi Ham!

I haven't played the Oregon Series, no high end shops in Athens.

The SJ25W in my sig is an old one built by Steve Henderson when he was still with them. Absolutely awesome sounding instrument.

Have fun with your new baby!

Default Update

Got a good, solid setup in two phases. Posted a thread about how desirable it is to split the saddle on these to equalize the amplified tone of the B and high E string.

But I am floored by the guitar. It now plays almost like my homebrew Telecaster and has theis full, ethereal tone that sustains for days. When you hit a note or chord, there is this initial decay, and then the tone seems to have an afterburner and kicks up even longer. It just makes a guy smile.

Studying with a guy now who has a guitar with myrtle back and sides constructed by a local builder. We'll see how this compares.

But on the whole, I can't wait to record this thing and gig with it. Sometimes you just want to unleash a tone on the world. This is one of those times.

Very pretty guitar; good luck with it!
Does this series have the bridge truss?
