Have you had experience with cuban mahogany? What were the factors that caused you to choose it? I also have a guitar commissioned with cuban mahogany (OM/grand concert size with Lutz top). Won't be done for quite some time though. |

Chris, you're going to love her!
My custom-built 12-fret, slope shoulder http://www.montuoroguitars.com/featured_4_08.htm turned out exceptionally well in looks and with a cannon of a sound. Keep us posted! Cheers, Benoit |

Soundport....
Way cool! I guess it's too late to have John go back and drill out (& bind) a sound port on my '05 12-fret slope dread!

Cuban Mahogany...To be honest, I do not really remember if it came up in discussion with John or from something I read. I told John I wanted a huge sounding Spruce/Hog guitar and this is what we came up with. Chris

That looks like it will be beautiful when done. Has John worked with Cuban Mahogany before? And what does he think about it as a Guitar wood. I've read about it but never heard a Cuban Mahogany Guitar.
Thanks Carlos |

John Osthoff builds spectacular guitars, and this one is going to be no exception. He's a great guy, too. We enjoyed having him as an AGF Sponsor for a while.
Can't wait to see the finished product, and to hear some audio clips! cotten |

Looks like it'll be a beauty Chris! Congratulations!
I just noticed your profile says "Terribly left handed"... but your guitars are right handed....? So...couldn't find a lefty when you were learning to play? Or do you play yours upside down like Michael Card? |

We live in a handist society. I never even thought of learning to play left handed. I figure you use both hands to play guitar why does it matte where your strong hand is... Chris

Chris, with the longer scale length (25.9), I was wondering do you prefer medium gauges (tuned down) or lights? Keep the pics coming! Kevin Lifetime Member Left-Handist Society

I prefer lights...I tune every where from standard to a variety of C based tunings and David Wilcox's Cut Capo tuning of Open G with a B in the bass. Here are two more pictures: The Bearclawed top: The correct pix shot (of course you know all about that): I am pretty excited about this guitar. Chris
