If it recreated a guitar that he actually played, maybe it would be worth having his name on it (I probably still wouldn't buy it). As is, it reminds me of the Gibson fiasco with their faux Stratocaster Hendrix model.

Interesting, I'll have to put this on my list of things to check out at NAMM.

Can't even begin to guess what one of those would cost....

Buy yourself a 1950s Epiphone FT-79. Hendrix used one to work out the songs on Electric Ladyland. The one he owned went up for auction years back.

Reuben Forsland of Joi Guitars is a highly respected, accomplished luthier.
Any one of his creations will be first rate, IMHO.

Would this wood have mutated to an exceptional sounding tonewood by Jimi's presence alone, even before he started practising? Shall we call it 'Purple Haze'? Can anyone point me to where Jimi's diapers are kept, I'm sure they can be reused somehow, bandana perhaps.

Just beyond funny. I think I could write a proper letter of appreciation from a happy customer for this wonderful product. Let's see:
-------------------------- Last summer I was lighting my barbeque grill with $1000 bills and I got to thinking there must be a better use for my money. After all, I am generous to a fault and frugal. Just last Christmas day I let my employees go home a half hour early and didn't even doc them a whole hours worth of pay.SOUND QUALITY Sounds like money well spent. No one will EVER play these guitars. CONSTRUCTION QUALITY Yes they was constructed. If you have to ask, you just don't get it. VALUE Priceless. I bought all ten and have them stored in a nuclear blast proof vaults in various locations. They will not get stolen. CUSTOMER SUPPORT I bought the company and have employees on call 24/7. Too bad the Hendrixes did not live in a home made of BRW and spruce.

If it had X saddle slots in the bridge I might consider it.
One could change the saddle back and forth for right and left handed string arrangements. Two different playing orientations. Right like this boring effort. Or upside down like Jimi. Jimi's preferred setup would be the cutaway facing up. Then compose / perform an ad with some wanton abandon, wild man chops. And then there is this pedestrian, two track, ad music. Whose 2 track composition, and playing, makes me cringe. Because to me it is so, not Hendrix. His sister lives in a big house 5 miles from me I hope she gets a kitchen remodel out of this. Just watched the Vid and Holly crap!! that thing is just gorgeous. The forearm contour looks a lot like a Taylor design feature. And to think it might even have the very same leaded paint chips in it that Jimi chewed on as a child.
Apparently, if you want to buy any JOI guitar, wanting to even know what it costs in is bad form. |

Whether it sounds great or not is different thing. I think it'll be better than most generic guitars as it's hand built by an experienced luthier and people can do worse, for example buy a highly polished you know what.
