Default 1958 D-18 The Old Rugged Cross

I sat down late a couple of nights ago and did this. This guitar hasn't been played in about 25 years, needs a neck reset and hurts to play above the 5th fret. But I wanted to record something before I get the work done. I suspect it will only sound better once it gets a neck reset and properly set up, and then some playing time.

Wow, Allen!

What a sweet sound! Nice job on this! Best of luck on the neck reset work that will be done on that old guitar! I'm sure you are looking forward to it being easier to play, but how nice to hear it now combined with your extra effort!

Well done!

Thanks all, glad you enjoyed that. I found this guitar hanging on the wall of a local music store in 1995, it had a cracked bridge and the previous owner had drawn nearly a dozen different doodles on the face of it with a sharpie. It had a peace sign, a couple of banners, a maple leaf, just all sorts of stuff. I rescued it then and got the bridge replaced. Wasn't much to do about the drawings except lightly sand down to the wood. I didn't keep it long and sold it to a friend who did some additional finish work to the top before putting it in the case and keeping it in his basement with about a hundred other guitars (not an exaggeration). He recently passed away and his family was gracious enough to help me get this one back. I think it will be great guitar once the neck reset is done and it gets played for a while.

Great story on the guitar, and great sound and playing. Yeah go get it fixed so you've got a guitar to make some more great music with!
