SOLD 1920’s Supertone Parlor guitar
1920s Supertone parlor guitar
You simply cannot duplicate the sound of 100-year old Adirondack spruce. Here is a fantastic-sounding Supertone parlor with a gorgeous Adirondack top, quatersawn white oak back and sides, and some of the the handsomest herringbone marquetry I've ever seen -- the split herringbone pattern is just lovely! This guitar has had a neck reset, and the fingerboard replaced with an ebony board and new frets with no wear to speak of. Ebony bridge as well. The saddle has been "compensated" with the slots on a slight bias to improve the position of the strings over the fretboard and it plays beautifully up and down the neck. The tone is loud, punchy, with thick, articulate trebles that just sing. A wonderful blues guitar that responds well to both finger style playing and flatpicking. These supertone parlors are highly sought after by blues players and represent amazing value. This one is a winner. The guitar will be shipped in a Martin OM sized case with proper padding around the guitar so there will be no movement. See guitar specs below.. 1 13/16” nut width Lower bout 12.5” Upper bout 9” Body length 18” Body depth 3.75” Scale length 24.75” SOLD

Sorry, couldn't resist. VERY cool little guitar. The idea of owning a guitar in THAT condition that is 100 years old is pretty intriguing. Best of luck on your sale!!
