Damaged hardcase worth repairing?
Ordered a Silver Creek hardcase as a “Stupid Deal of the Day” from Musician’s Friend and it arrived walloped on the neck end (pictured). It only cost me $70 (basically half off) and I’m wondering if it’s worth trying to fix, or if the plywood is damaged enough that it makes more sense to just return it (you can see the bulge in the tolex). Thanks for your input!

To me, $70 is a lot of money to “settle” for less than you paid for. Call it principle or whatever you want to call it, but I expect a purchase to be free of defects or it goes back asap.

I wouldn't pay $70 for that. And I wouldn't pay more to make it 'better.'
Return it.

OP's talking to the wrong audience. OP needs to pick up the phone and call MF and see about a replacement. No mention of box damage, which is an important part of the discussion. Pictures (one hopes!) of the shipping box before opening? It's possible that the case was damaged before being shipped, too. But call and discuss. NO EMAIL! TALK!

I suggested a call because MF may not want it back considering the expense of a return. OP won't know what a solution means until he speaks with someone.

The original shipping box wasn’t damaged, I don’t think, but I already discarded it before I noticed the damage to the case (it was wrapped in one of those black mesh bags). Fortunately I’ve got plenty of empty boxes I can ship it back in. Decided I’m done ordering guitar gear online (I’ve had so many problems lately) so I chatted with a MF CSR and they sent me a return label. Thanks for the input, y’all.
