Yes, I have seen a few very high-end acoustics with laminated sides, and they sounded fantastic. I played an old Martin D-2R with laminated back and sides for over 20 years, and the FG830 that I have now reminds me a lot of that guitar. I also have an all-solid Alvarez, but I like the Yamaha more. Call me crazy, I guess.
