Anyone know a good late beginner lesson for “Brown eyed women”?

Not that happy with the YouTube options I can find.

Thanks!

Wow, that sounds great Joe. Enjoy! I've yet to make it to a Dead and Co show. I'd like to - I've really dug most of what I've heard from them recently. But the only stop on this tour within reach is at the Gorge Amphitheater and we're gonna be visiting back east when they're playing there. So I guess I'll have to continue to live on my memories (and recordings) of the actual Grateful Dead. It's OK, I'm not that into the whole concert scene anymore anyway.

And thanks for listening to that track, and for the kind words...

-Ray

Here's a few covers. I am an old Dead Head, and Jerry's playing is one of my essential influences.

Birdsong: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqr9xpYb3ZU

Ripple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yX6V_BvZ9GU

Althea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrhzOdRwhR4

I am glad to see Dead and Company, Dark Star Orchestra, JRAD, JGB (with Melvin Seals), Phil and Friends, and others out there playing the music.

Thanks for this thread.

Nice! I think I’d heard your Althea before, but not the other two. Enjoyed them all. I do Althea but I love to play electric lead on it. I do Ripple all acoustically. And I’ve never tried Birdsong, but might have to try it…

Nice additions to the thread railroad bomb. Good to see you keeping the music alive too. We’re off for our last show for dead and company to Boston tomorrow, but I will be looking forward for DSO and JRAD and others. You should also check out grateful shred an LA band. Lots of fun.

Thanks, Ray. I can't play electric guitar very well, so I stay away from that approach.

Birdsong is a lot of fun, and you can go about anywhere with it.

Thank you for the kind words.

I hope the Dead and Company show is good.

I do know Grateful Shred. That was how I found Mapache and Dan Horne. Really good stuff.

Tim, I'd missed your version of these two tunes back in the summer, so thanks to Joe for waking the thread back up and I caught up with both of them. Couldn't be more different, but I really enjoyed them both. As usual, Tim, you really bring your own thing to it, particularly the vocals, and I've come to REALLY enjoy your approach. Just great. And Joe, nice version as usual and good to see/hear your son back on lead again. Really nice all around.
