This really does look fantastic.

I look forward to seeing – and hearing – this build when it's complete.

To say that I'm pleased with how this guitar is turning out would be an understatement, so I send my thanks to Michel and Virgile for their outstanding work and share the pictures below:

I'm looking forward to seeing Michel's hand carved Bois de Rose bridge for this guitar. The neck will have a Bois de Rose fingerboard with EVO fretwire.
Good golly Miss Molly Doug!! You guys are hitting another one out of the park. That back is just killer

Default Bridge Drilled, Slotted and Ready to Carve!

My thanks to Bill, Diogo, Dave, Dennis, Dan, Tom, Mike, agustin and Volman for posting your supportive thoughts from the last set of pictures from Virgile.

Michel told me today that he will most likely collect my guitar from Virgile at the end of next week when his family will be traveling to Biarritz, France near the ocean. So, just a bit longer than originally planned.

Meanwhile, Michel has started work on the Bois de Rose bridge for the guitar.

Below is the picture he sent to me today showing the bridge, now drilled and slotted and ready for him to begin carving the detailed bits that will reflect his ever-evolving style and taste beautifully.

Thanks Kevin...as you can see below, we're getting closer every day.

I received these updates from Michel today:

"I just finished carving the bridge. It looks very dark and not flat because I just applied a finish. Once I rub off the finish it will be lighter and satin. But it gives you an idea. I hope you like it."

I love the way this carved bridge turned out, each one slightly different from his previous bridges but true to his signature style!

I asked Michel if he was making the trip this weekend to pick up the guitar from Virgile Pilon and got this additional bit of good news:

"The guitar is already here We cancelled our Biarritz trip because of the bad weather, but a colleague from there was driving to Toulouse yesterday, so I asked Virgile to send it with him."

Michel also told me that he will be doing fretwork on Monday and then will be ready to setup the guitar soon thereafter.

Not too long now Doug! A sister of mine, but definitely with her own identity. This is all around beautiful.

Thank you Dan, your Bois de Rose MA-D from Michel looks and sounds amazing. I trust mine will share the same sonic DNA as your Aboudib beauty crafted just a few months earlier.

Here is a picture Michel shared today of his apprentice, Mathis installing strings on my Mod-D. Michel said they also completed the initial setup on the guitar.

Thanks for looking in. Check back for more pictures and a video demo soon.

Default Michel Aboudib Italian Spruce-Bois de Rose Modified Dreadnought

I asked Michel if Antoine Aubry would be taking final pictures and recording a demo performance with my guitar. Michel's response is below:

"Yes, Antoine will be taking pictures and recording a video demo. I will keep the guitar for another ten days or so to allow it to settle before reviewing the setup. That will also give time to Antoine to compose a piece for it and record it."

Antoine is a gifted guitarist and does excellent work with his photography and videography as well. I will share the pictures and video demo here once I have received them.

You shouldn't have to wait much longer Bill. Antoine Aubry completed the photo shoot and demo video performance earlier this week and is making final edits. Michel sent me a preliminary version of the demo performance yesterday. Antoine has composed an inspired piece of music and his performance of it is sublime. I am delighted with the sound and look of this stellar instrument!

I will post the demo video and pictures once they've been finalized and I have them.

Stay tuned!
