In the year of the Strat?
Pretty cool commercial.

Iconic beyond words - say "electric guitar" to the uninitiated, and a Strat is inevitably the image that comes to mind...

Wow, that's actually a great ad. Doesn't help with my gassing for an American strat or an AVRI 57.

…gotta love a good wankfest…….noticeably missing…Marshall stacks
I’ve been playing Strats since 1969…… like many here, I was born the same year as the Stratocaster….1954….a very good year..

I gave the ad some mental merit points for including Nile Rogers and so many women. A while ago refresh on Nile Rogers made me wonder if he's got one of the most profitable Stratocasters ever. Context being how many huge and long term popular hits he's been part of.

I have to admit that after fighting the Strat for so long, including buying and selling an American Professional strat, that I found a combo that works for me and I'm learning to like it quite a lot. In fact, I have two strats now (or at least a strat and a clone) and both have their own things going on. They are a ve4ry versatile guitar once you learn their strengths and weaknesses. Cool ad! Not my kind of music, but fun to watch. I didn't know any off the players there.

This struck me a few months ago and in a few ways. He goes though a lot of hits here but it is also 30 minutes of fantastic talent. Pure live music, singing, playing in the pocket, working the audience etc.... And of course, his hit maker famous Stratocaster. Imagine our world economy if everyone worked effectively like his band including those smiles.

to each his own...never cared for a strat myself...tele and it's 3-way tone switch and/or a few gibson models for country, blues, swing and no rocking blues

Iconic ..for a reason!
C'mon, you can also say this for the venerable LP. And "maybe" even for that other Fender model None of which takes away from the strat and its inextricable link with rock n roll! Yeah, I like this ad! Edward |

I feel like it should have been filmed on the back of a moving truck.
My first electric guitar was a Strat. I played that for years. After that I got a G&L Legacy and played the G&L for a few years. Great guitars. Then I played a Tele for the first time. I didn't look back. I liked the hardtail bridge. I liked the non-contoured body. I loved the sound of the three pickup options. I have been playing Teles since then. I still love the look of a Strat, though. It was the guitar that I wanted when I was a kid. It drew me in to playing guitars. |

Looking at what they are playing, makes me think I need a rosewood fretboard Fender.
