What he said. Adirondack is hard to come by but I have heard of it used on a classical.

Yamaha uses sitka on its lowest-end classicals ($300 below I think), European on its midrange, and Hokkaido spruce on its top of the line. Hokkaido spruce is supposedly even harder to get than Adirondack since there are harvesting limits.

This has really sparked my interest in a spruce top.
I'm going to look for some to try out.

thanks for the info. i been asking about adi in the forum, since couple of months, first time i get the answer.
i like and use cedar in my classical and steel string guitar.
but i have a classical too with german spruce and maple, has a nice sound with clean
overtones.
