Default Laundry soap, or pods?

Just a curiosity question(s),
Do you use liquid laundry soap? Dry powder? Pods?
Name brand?
Or even something else?
We switched to pods awhile back.
I keep finding myself looking at the little things and throwing in a 2nd.
I haven't heard of folks eating them for quite awhile.
That must be a good thing?

Tide free and gentle liquid. We've used it since my kids were babies and just stuck with it.

It's definitely a good thing that people have stopped eating them.

That or similar. Does the job, no problems. I've never found myself thinking "Gee, if only this stuff came in like individual capsuloid servings . . . "

We actually started using laundry sheets, as the packaging is much less wasteful than those big plastic jugs of detergent. Comes in a recyclable cardboard box.

The sheets seem to work just fine!

I don't use any plastic coated pods, as I think the coating dissolves into microplastic which ends up in the ocean.

I use powdered laundry soap that comes in a cardboard box.

Liquid. Arm & Hammer brand because it’s usually cheaper, or whatever else is on sale. I don’t find much difference in how different brands clean things. Now that I’m retired, my clothes aren’t nearly as dirty as they used to be.

Our current Maytag washer does a REALLY good job with minimal liquid it dispenses by weight (as I understand it), and our big property tax bill includes paying for a city that still recycles when markets are poor so we buy jugs COSTCO liquid.

It was interesting to notice the current washer doing a good job and using less detergent.

Unscented liquid. Tide usually. I think liquid is recommended for front loaders.

The thing that irks me no end (sorry everyone, I barely have a lawn so it's gotta come out somehow!) is how increasingly impossible it is to find non-pod dishwasher detergent. Powdered dishwasher detergent is miraculous for cleaning any pot, pan, dish, baking sheet, etc. that gets cooked-on crud. Works great on stove-top too.
Unlike w/laundry detergent, it is much harder to find unscented dishwasher detergent of any kind. Locally to me, I can find exactly one brand. Fortunately, that is enough!

I've been using a different method for about four years or so . It's called Eco Egg, and I get it through Amazon. It's more cost effective and earth friendly, and you can get refill pellets at Amazon as well. Supposedly good for people with allergies that regular laundry detergents can aggravate.

It's different in that it is a plastic egg that's contains two kinds of little pellets that dissolve in water and release soil and stains from your laundry without lathering up. If I have a stain that is greasy, I use a stain spray or some Dawn liquid to treat it before it goes in the wash. I completely happy with it.

Here's a book, both comic and poignant, that revolves around the marketing of detergent and other consumer goods. Highly recommended!

I use liquid Tide. Works well so no reason to change.

Pods. They are simply too easy to refuse.

Tide Liquid forever and specifically the Febreeze Odor Defense variety since my son started playing Lacrosse 20 years ago. He’s moved out but the Tide stayed.

BTW-I spent 42 years in Consumer Product sales, not for P&G but in Confection. You get to learn a lot by talking with other sales people. Though I have no evidence to support this I recall hearing that laundry soap has the highest consumer Brand loyalty among shoppers. Once they find what they like they are unlikely to change.
