ive always been told that the number of guitars you should own is how old you are times how many different genres you play, divided by 5

Ten including some electrics and a bass. Will need to trim it down at some point but I’m not there yet.

Somewhere between "probably too many" and "just one more"

Wow! For me, that's a lot of guitars. My house isn't even big enough!

Default How many guitars do you own?

The collection has grown again. I recently took possession of a Legend Guitar Co. OM-302. I believe it to be a 2001. Check out my NGD post for pics if your interested.
I now have 12 acoustics and 8 electric guitars. Along with the other instruments listed in my signature.

My name is Steph and I have NGS. I have more guitars than I need and not as many as I want.

I've added 3 more in just the past 6 weeks. I really don't want to keep updating counts, though. It seems rather pointless...

I understand that.
Since I started the thread I update my "count" to refresh interest in the thread and give those who have not shared a chance to contribute.

I answered once, but the number is constantly changing. I sold three guitars the week of last Thanksgiving. I honestly thought I was 'done' with my collection. Needless to say, another guitar is arriving tomorrow.

Currently I own 11, but they're all museum quality.
I never understood non-professionals who buy multiple budget guitars.
Whenever I go to Guitar Center, all the $2k-$5k guitars sound the same to me: uninspiring.
I'd certainly choose one museum quality guitar over multiple budget guitars.
Unless I was a professional musician and needed multiple budget guitars for performance reasons.
