LR Baggs Voiceprint DI - WOW or meh?
I have seen a few videos of the Voiceprint DI, and some of them made me go WOW, and other made me go "meh".
Like... take a look at the last video of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lT9fgqWG6E Totally WOW! Specially at the 80% setting. But there are a LOT of other videos that the sound are not that great. Not even close. So... have you guys had any experience with it? Thank you!

This is definitely the kind of product you have to take home and if you gig, take to a performance.
At home experiment with mic placement to get an IR you like the sound of. At a gig experiment with the knobs to make sure it is usable at your stage volume levels and with the unique characteristics of the venues you play. Most importantly the knobs (or phone app) cover what you need to quickly get a good sound with no feedback. I think you can easily make any IR generator sound bad. I also think you could take a great sounding living room IR and without the right controls find it unusable at your gigs.

It will be interesting to see if the VPDI's single-dial anti-feedback knob and its phase reversal switch will be enough to mitigate problems with feedback and/or excessively muddy tone in difficult performance settings. It would be a shame if one's phone needs to be incorporated into the stage setup just to make "quick and dirty" EQ adjustments (to the voiceprint patch or patches being used) at the gig.

My friend is Sheryl Crow's guitar tech. He absolutely loves it. He told me to watch her video that comes out in June and I'll hear her use it.

Has she moved away from the Trance?

Sheryl can use the Trance with the LR Baggs VoicePrint.

Of course but I am curious if she is now using something other than the Trance.

I just stumbled onto her YouTube channel and I guess she’s doing a series of intimate performances. I believe she has already posted a few. She showed her board and the Voiceprint is definitely there. The issue is that she also has a mic in front of her guitar in every performance so I am not sure what show is coming in June, but I hope it’s something that really showcases the VP.
