Thank you! There's more to come!

So... 32 was the first Kostal guitar to feature the two-tone headstock which took a significant amount of R+D to get to the point where Jason was happy with it. Here is that same design evolved into the headstock of 99!

I think this is the first Kostal headstock I recall with such a high contrast in woods... takes on a whole new look, which I do like a lot!

There has been another... Jason made a sublime jumbo in quilted maple with a two tone headstock... just gorgeous

Oh My Goodness! Curious what the plans are for the finish of the back & sides? Staying with the natural blonde as much as possible, or will you warm it up a bit with some toner or stain?

Thank you Nemoman! It is a real pleasure to see this one coming together. Jason's work was superb back when he made #32 but his guitars since leaving the Somogyi workshop are on another level entirely.

Good question! We'll stick with the gentlemen's choice for most of this guitar...

So, while #32 was still being built Jason had sent me his own guitar #31, now hanging in the Museum of Musical Instruments in Phoenix AZ.

This is a lovely guitar and it was a joy to be reunited with it after so many years when I visited Phoenix last summer. Here's 31 in action

The thing about 31 is that it was obviously designed to be played in broad daylight by someone with 20/20 vision because the position markers are a deep crimson against the ebony edge of the fretboard... I fell off...

Jason stepped up with #32 and installed gorgeous position markers that glow in the dark. By day they look like pearl dots with a brass surround (very Larson Bros... lovely!)

Charging them with a black light gives me a soft royal blue landing strip...

And this morning I received a new pic of 99. Dots! They glow!

The neck has also been carved... I can almost feel it...

Aside from being a luthier and guitarist, I suspect that your luthier's passion for watches which incorporate a number of novel lume technologies may be influential here...

That has to be my favorite Kostal of all time. That maple looks absolutely jaw dropping. I'm really curious how it will sound next to your mahogany MD.
