Default Fixing a free Line 6 Spider III 15 Amp

I know that these Line 6 amps are not really that good, but I have a lot of free time and I would like to see if I could fix it up.

Whenever I turn it on, the amp acts as if all the knobs are turned all the way up. However, as soon as I jiggle the knobs a tiny bit, the amp functions as it should as long as it is on. Whenever I turn it off then back on again, I have to jiggle the knobs a tiny bit to make it function correctly.

I have opened the amp up used contact cleaner and compressed air on the pots and jack inputs/outputs to see if that would fix it. It would not.

Is this a common problem with these amps? Is there some sort of reset for this amp?

I found this online:

Spider I, II, III, IV, Micro, and Valve Series: Hold down the A (or clean) button as you turn on the power and hold the button for 5-8 seconds.

Note: This will erase all current presets and restore the factory sounds, so please save your sounds on a second source if necessary.

Ok, so I reset the presets, however, every time I turn on the amp it goes back a preset. I have successfully set another preset and it seems to work, However, I do not want this amp to start up in "preset mode"

How do I make the amp start up normally with the knobs as they are on the amp and not on a preset?

I suspect the answer is buried in the manual that is available online.
I did find this:

Channel Memories / Amp Models
The four channels each use a different Amp Model, and all come
pre-loaded with a factory preset dialed in to nail a great tone. Press
one of these buttons to hear the presets. To replace any preset with
your own “snapshot” of all tone and effect knob positions (except
Master Volume), press and hold one of these four buttons for two
seconds. The light flashes when the save is complete
