Looper thst works like Strymon Timeline looper
Does anyone know of a looper pedal that works like the looper in a Strymon Timeline? The Timeline's looper fits my gigging needs to the T, except it's only 30 seconds and for some tunes I need more. On a Timeline: "A" records/overdubs, "B" Plays loop and the "Tap" button stops the record or play with only 1 tap. The goal is to record a few bars of what I'll be playing lead over and stop recording with 1 tap with no instant playback. For instance, if the chorus progression happens to be the progression a lead will be played over, I can record the progression while singing/playing it, stop (with only 1 tap), then play the lead later on in the tune. Besides the Timeline, the other loopers I have I have to doubletap for a full stop after recording or the loop will instantly start its cycle.
I do own a Boss Rc5. I know I can get close to what I want by configuring a Boss Fs6 dual pedal switch. The only thing I cannot find out is if I configure, say pedal "B" to be my stop switch, will it stop my recording with one tap. All the vids show someone double tapping the pedal to stop the loop and using A and B to start and stop the loop at a later time. I'm hoping my questions are clear. Basically, if anyone is a looper and knows how the Timeline's looping works, I'm looking for that with at least a couple min of record time. |

I think the RC500 will do that, I just got it though and admittedly don't know much more about it than recording a loop. I was a little disappointed to discover you can't toggle between memory slots with the included foot switches, so you have to buy the external to jump between saved loops.

Hi Willie, while I'm not familiar with the Strymon looper,
I have a Boss RC-3 that I use with a Boss FS-5U external footswitch. The FS-5U stops the loop with a single stomp, also clears the loop by holding it. I would think the Boss double footswitch could be configured to stop with a single stomp. Hope this helps.

I use the RC-3/FS-5u just like jrcc and preset my loop for later use, just like
I think you are trying to do. Set your RC-5/RC3 to Record/Play/Overdub setting. Hit RC5 to start recording. Hit FS-5u to stop recording & 'store' phrase. When ready to start the loop, hit the RC5. To stop loop playback, hit FS5u. (There is also a phase switch to set on the FS5u). When you are finished with that song, press and hold FS5U to clear loop. I am pretty sure the RC3 & RC5 work the same way....but not positive. I am also pretty sure the RC500 dual buttons work the same way. I hope this helps....or maybe I misunderstand your dilemma. |

To delete a loop, hold the Fs5u down. Yes it deletes without playing any of the loop.

Correct.....and the delete function makes no noise.
BTW, I like having the 2 different types 'buttons' to punch...ie the rC3 vs fs5u button. It makes them easier to see and hit, particularly when singing. Good luck. |

Perfect, thnx! A buddy has an fs6 for cheap... basically the same pedal with 2 buttons. I'm thinking I can accomplish the same functions?
