Default Peter Case lyric help needed!

I love Peter's song "Blue Distance" and unfortunately the lyrics don't seem to be available anywhere. I've listened to it repeatedly and done the work the old school way - written them down as I listened - but I am missing just one or two words at the end of the first verse. The ??? below indicate where I need help. Please, if anyone has better ears than me or plays the tune, please advise!! thanks!

"Up on Black Mountain we stood on a ledge,
With our backs to the stars and our feet on the edge
Watch the world spin, clouds gathering
And I wonder what year am I ??????

In the blue distance with you (etc.) "

I just listened on YouTube, and I think it's "and I wonder what years and miles will bring."

Here's the video in case anyone else wants to have a listen:

Yep, think previous poster got it right....but I also hear "backs to the stone" not stars.

Love peter. Seen him more times than almost any performer. I got to hang out with him for about 10 minutes once after a show at the (dearly departed) Lounge Ax in chicago.

Excellent, thanks very much!!! At least moving a mouse and cursor is a bit easier than lifting and replacing a needle over and over! Never was much good at deciphering mumbled lyrics. I was one of those who sang (at the top of my lungs while the song played on the AM station from the crackly radio in my Corvair: "There's a bathroom on the right!" when Bad Moon Rising chorus came around!)
