Default The Dream-original song for Ranger

I had some real encouragement from another songwriter on this forum yesterday. I wrote and recorded this morning a little ditty I'd like to dedicate to him. Thanks a lot, Roy....

WOW! Such an honor Terry! I am so grateful to the kind people here and I simply try to "pay it forward". I bristle at the term "constructive criticism" and perhaps it is just semantics but I prefer "positive encouragement". I believe that the power to improve comes from inside YOUR soul. I think that positive encouragement and a few tips here and there, simply helps coax it out.

Loved the song. Like all of your music, I get such vivid imagery from the song and the performance. This one puts me in mind of a blues man down in the delta singing a song and spinning a yarn on the front porch of his ramshackle swamp cabin. Loved it!

Great bluesy feel to that. Love the slight tremolo in the playing.

Thanks noman and rickwaugh! Roy has been very complimentary towards my songs since I first started posting. I felt it was about time to write something dedicated to a great fellow songwriter. We should try to stick together, right?

Several have mentioned the bluesy tone of my guitar on this song. I'll give some details concerning that tone. The song was composed and played on my 1999 National Delphi Vintage Model. Medium gauge D'Addario phosphor bronze strings. Double drop D tuning. (6th and 1st strings lowered to D out of standard tuning) First position chords require slight modification. No slide used. I hope this information is useful, and I thank all for the comments.

Keep writing, keep playing!! Thanks again!
