I just ordered a second Go Acoustic Audio pickup for a second guitar. By now, I'm pretty experienced with the installation system and expect this to go easier.

If this one turns out as good as the first, there's a 3rd guitar that might get the pickup as well.

Question

Great to see Marshall finding so much sound. I am thrilled he wants to install another.

I presume there was not impulse resonance, Baggs EQ box, Fishman, Boss or other devices?

Marshall,

Can you tell me how tight the fit of the UST/Saddle is? I am curious if there is any drop off in acoustic volume with this UST.

Go AA is not an under saddle pickup

Ah, yes, this is an integrated unit. Thank you. That makes sense.

Sorry I am so frustrated with this platform

I have written several times for support on my sponsorship and I can not even see that my messages are going through.

I was able to upload and post pictures using the Upload feature. Now I try to load pics and its crashes my post and I have to re write it.

Very disappointing

I use the The Café and have no issues posting videos and pics. The moderator gave me great advice.

If I made guitars with frets in the wrong place and installed pickups that buzzed, crackled and did not serve problems my clients might have, I would be our of business.

I have been fighting this platform since I sponsored it.

I am really sick of waisting my time

Rant concluded

It's a whole saddle, not an Under Saddle Pickup. It comes as a full Tusq saddle with 6 embedded elements (as I understand it. [and I really don't understand on any engineering technical sense. ]). I haven't measured any sonic response to prove anything, but my perception is there is no difference from a regular Tusq saddle acoustically for a guitar.

You can order the pickup/saddle blank and fine tune the height and shape yourself, or you can give detailed dimensions of your existing saddle and slot, and Paul will shape the new saddle for you for a nominal fee. Then it becomes a drop-in with you having to drill holes first in you slot to fit the 2 wires through.

The install is a trickier process than your typical other pickup. But the results are much better than anything else I've come across.

And Dave, I've got a 2nd GO AA coming for another guitar. We live relatively close, I imagine. If you want to come around when I do the 2nd installation, let me know. You're welcome to observe the process.

The pick up has 2 micro ribbon cables. There are 6 elements for each string.

3 elements are connected to reach cable.

They are not an integrated set of signals they are independent signals.

There are 6 individual input circuits each tuned too the frequency range of each string.

This creates clarity and separation which can be controlled.

The integration of the signals happens only after the input Hz is engineered in the independent inputs.

The integration, or Summing, is differential causing phasing of 80% between odd and even strings

I'm not sure what you question is. In the clip I posted, the guitar was plugged directly into a stage DI box that went to the house mixing board. It's a digital board, and the sound person has controls for EQ and FX on her I-pad. But I just took a 1/4" out of my guitar into her DI box with nothing between.

The steel string version has a 16 inch radius made into the top.

There is a 2 mm margin on the bottom that can be removed to lower saddle height.

The min. height of the 16 inch radius saddles is .220 on the high E. Call it 7/32.
