What a cool guitar, congrats!

You need to learn "Mr. Tambourine Man" immediately.

They're real good guitars, and they offer a wide selection. Wikipedia has a good short history of the company.

I'm sad that it moved production across the Pacific, though I know it was to keep competitive.

It would be especially cool to score one of their old US-made guitars. All their bodies were Masonite, a.k.a. phenolic laminate. Highly resonant, ultra-light-weight. Reverb.com has quite a few.

PS - Oh. You got one already. Never mind. And — congrats!

Does anyone have thoughts about the Railhammer PUs vs the their standard Humbuckers? Even basic differences between the 2. The marketing talks about more clarity in the low end and more midrange.

I don't know if that's a good thing in electrics for what I'd like to do yet. Thanks!

I cannot speak to Reverend's humbuckers, but I have a (non-Reverend) thin-line T-style with two P90s and I do agree with description(s) of Reverend's own version of P90 pickups (which came stock in my Reverend Airwave 12).

(From Reverend's website):
9A5 BRIDGE
Raw, classic tone, but wound slightly hotter and thicker sounding than a vintage P90, making it perfect for the bridge position.

9A5 NECK
Slightly cleaner than a vintage P90, with clear, open tone.

My stage amp is a newer Fender Custom Pro Reverb. The most versatile (loves all PUs) amp I own.

I have Railhammers in a couple of guitars. I really like a humbucker bridge with the clarity of a P90 neck. I don’t recall which models I have in which guitar, but both are very versatile and sound great.
