I dont know how long, but I would stay away from these. WAY too many horror stories. I had two cases replaced because they turned the case different colors on the inside. A lot of people have had them leak in their guitars. Planet Waves says they are ok now, but I will never trust them. Do a search here, lots of info, tomana.

- My furnace as a humidifier on it for the whole house.
- Also have a fairly big room humidifier we use in the dead of Winter.
- I keep an eye on the hygrometer in the room where my guitars are.
- I keep my guitars cased in the Winter with two sponge-baggies in each case. One at the neck joint and one up in the headstock area. The sponges need to be dampened about once a week.

I use a Damp-It AND a sender in the case which reports to the main unit on my studio desk. I try to keep it around 43-48%. Works well if you pay attention to it every wek.
