EMG ACS mag pickup…anyone tried one?
Hi all,
I’m interested in one of these as an active option for a 00 size guitar that I want to use live occasionally. I have Sunrise and MagMic pickups in my other guitars and tend to favour magnetic pickups. The demos online tend to make it sound a little janky, but I’m aware that online videos recorded dry straight into a DAW often have that effect. Has anyone had any hands on experience with the ACS? Would love to hear thoughts/feedback if so! Thanks again J

I have one in a D18 style guitar and am quite pleased with it. I removed the b string pole piece to improve string balance. I find with proper EQ with a mixer or preamp I get an entirely acceptable sound.

Would love to hear any other real world experiences though if anyone else has tried one!
