For my electrics, [and when I used to have a 612ce] I found Polytone Amps to be a good compromise. They're relatively light in weight, built like tanks and sound very clean even at high volumes.

Why not plug the guitar straight into the PA?

The only reason I don't have an acoustic amp is that I just can't foresee ever using one. In the studio, I mic my guitar. Live, I go straight into the board (well, through a TU-2 and a DI box). An acoustic amp would be a waste of money for me...

right now I do go strait the Di into the PA. I was just wondering if it would help if I used my AMP.
