Default What color Taylor T5 should I get?

I am just about ready to purchase a Taylor T5. I'm not sure what color to get. Since I have received such great advise here I thought why not ask this question also. What color Taylor T5 should I get?

I am torn between Tobacco burst and Black personally.

Between those two, I'd probably do the Tobacco Burst. That would look great with a flamed maple top!

I really like the natural maple top. Makes it look like a late '70's era Ibanez Artist Bob Weir signature model (which were/are killer axes in both looks & tone)

I just went through this, and chose the natural maple in the end. But I also liked the black and tobacco sunbursts as well. I think I would have liked the colors a lot more if the necks were natural and not colored.

Hey. How happy are you with your T5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Hope I'm not putting you on the spot. Any comments would be appreciated!

Hopefully a lot. I likely won't get it until near end of next week (I hope) so I can let you know then!

I own a T 5 and love it...it fits my style of playing and music perfectly. I'll be honest at first I did not like it too much, but once I started playing around with it I have been able to find the perfect settings on it for me. of course it doesnt sound as good as my 414ce ltd acoustically, but it isn't supposed to. On the electric side, ok it doesn't sound like a tele, strat, or LP but again it isnt supposed to. the electric side sounds perfectly fine for me and my style, I just wanted to give you a heads up incase you are expecting it to sound like one of those. Mine is a Honey sunburst and I think it looks amazing, I did like the way it looked in a magazine as much but once I saw it in person I loved it. sorry for the long response here, just trying to give you as much info as I could

Go with Translucent Black on quilted maple....one of the most beautiful finishes I have ever seen.

I know you weren't asking me but this is a forum so here's my two cents...The T5 is an excellent acoustic alternative with a tone and style all its own while still maintaining its Taylorness and acousticness (not sure if those are words but you see where I am going). I love the tones of my T5 but you have to remember it is not an acoustic guitar it is a hybrid. Very acoustic yet very electric as well. IMO the T5 also avoids some of the midrange quack that some ES and A/E players in general complain about. I believe this is attributed to the body style and ingenious preamp voicing of the T5. Remember the T5 is not fully ES either. It uses components of ES. Hope this helps! Overall I give my T5 a solid 9 on a 1-10 scale.
